Boston Foundation Invites Proposals for Latino Equity Fund:

The Boston Foundation is committed to closing the gaps on the region’s greatest disparities, and through resources and relationships works to open pathways to opportunity and build and sustain vital, prosperous, and equitable communities.

The foundation invites proposals for its Latino Equity Fund (LEF), the first and only philanthropic fund in Massachusetts dedicated to activating, convening, and supporting the Latinx community in greater Boston and across Massachusetts.

For its FY25 grantmaking cycle, LEF seeks applications from community nonprofits within the foundation’s catchment area that are working toward the advancement of Latinos by:

Creating economic prosperity opportunities: Including adult education, computer literacy, entrepreneurship, housing assistance, workforce development/training, ESOL, leadership development, financial literacy, education and language, and addressing the racial wealth gap.

Combatting against healthcare disparities: Including improving healthcare equity and access, language access, mental health, substance use, built and natural environment, housing insecurity and homelessness, food insecurity, and elder care.

Supporting the community’s well-being: Including youth development, climate, civic engagement, research, and immigration reform advocacy.

Two-year general operating support grants of $50,000, paid in two equal annual installments of $25,000, will be awarded.

With its grantmaking, LEF strives to catalyze new partnerships, support and expand the capacity of the Latinx nonprofit sector and respond to emerging community needs. LEF prioritizes supporting emerging Latinx-serving organizations, those who are Latinx-led, and organizations that have not previously received funding from LEF/TBF.
